23 months!
Anthony is 23 months old today! Crazy!!! Where did the time go? A year ago I was posting about how at 11 months he was crawling all over the place and hitting a baseball. Now he is running all over the place and still smacking the baseball (just further). He can also understand everything you tell him, go potty in the toilet (though still not enough to lose the diapers) have a converstaion with you, give you tons of hugs and kisses and as always make us smile everyday. A few months ago I was at the park and there was a little girl there that Anthony started playing with. Her mom asked me how old Anthony was and I told her he was 18 months old. I ,of course, then asked how old her daughter was and she told me 23 months. My thoughts " man her daughter is way older, she's in a different league from Anthony. I mean she is in her twenties while my baby is still in his teens." Now here we are at 23 months getting ready to celebrate his two year birthday. You know when you first have your baby and people tell you to soak it in because before you know it they won't be babies anymore???? SO TRUE!! But you know what, I love every stage and right now the toddler stage is the best yet.

Take me out to the ballgame!
This weekend we went to Kids day at the Round Rock Express Game. Anthony actually sat and played for the entire 3 hours we were out there. Here are some pics and videos of him playing and then getting to run the bases with daddy. Oh and pay attention to the last video. It's short but you can see that he is running and then all of a sudden he turns back towards Randel. This is because he was about to reach home plate where the round rock express mascot was standing. A huge dog in a train engineers outfit was not something he was about to run up to.
Rolling down the hill.

Boys will be boys
Sunday Anthony had a fun day of playing. He went and played frisbee golf with Dad and a friend and had a great time. When we got home we let him play out front in the water. He proved that all little boys love playing in mud. I am sure that even if we had a little girl she would have also loved it. Check out the video of him enjoying splashing around. There are a lot but they are all short and they each make me smile. Sorry about the videos being sideways, I took them with my camera and haven't figured out how to rotate them.

Making sure I am ready for him this time.
In this one he is dunking his head in the water for fun.
I Like this one because it stops just as he is leaping.
Eggs Eggs and More Eggs!

Austin Nature Center
A few weeks ago I took my second graders on a field trip to the Austin Nature and Science Center and right away I knew Anthony would have fun there. They had a big sand pit where dinosaur fossils were hidden. There were tons of shovels and brushes to help excavate the fossils. There were also lots of animals like a bobcat, wolf, skunk of many different owls. We will definitely be making this place part of weekend places to go.

Spring Break
I love the fact that I have a profession that lets me still look forward to spring break. Randel couldn't stand the idea of me being off so he ended up taking the week off as well. We got to spend the first 3 and a half days just relaxing on our own since Anthony was visiting Mia and Grandad. It sure is weird to not have a toddler to run around behind all day. We played frisbee golf together, hung out at the park, watched a movie during the day, sat and had lunch and just enjoyed spending time together. We missed our little guy by Thursday and were super excited to get to see him again. I think breaks like that are sometimes needed in a relationship and we are grateful to have family that can give us that. Thursday we headed to Houston to see Abuelo and Abuela. Then we spent most of Friday in traffic heading to Galveston since it was windy and chilly we only spent about an hour there but it was still fun to see Anthony playing in the sand. Saturday we headed over to the Houston Rodeo. Anthony rolled around on a hill, saw cows, pigs, sheep and goats and got to ride on some cool tractors. Overall we had a wonderful relaxing spring break and now I can't wait for summer. Here are a few pics from the week. The bluebonnet ones were taken on our way back from Houston. We thought we found the best patch of bluebonnets until we drove a few miles further up and saw a huge field of them. Oh well, I still think these came out nice.
