Ok, so I try not to blog about my kiddos at school much. But if I did then man would you crack up. I have an awesome set of pretty funny kids who make me laugh everyday. The last few days there has been a marble situation. They are everywhere and every kid seems to have them. I am pretty laid back with my kids and it actually works pretty good, they are a good set of kids and respect me. But I have had to pick up marbles a lot this week. Today I picked them up from student "L". I was asked by student "L" if they would be returned at the end of the day. Since I know this students mother is very involved and would take care of this problem I said that I would happily give back the marbles at the end of the day to Mom and if Mom wanted to give them back then it was up to her. So at the end of the day I gave them to mom and she told me that her child had actually asked for a dollar the night before to buy some chips at lunch but later admitted that the dollar was to buy marbles from another student in class who said that for a dollar "L" could get 25 marbles. After my conversation with Mom I went over to "A" (the student aparently selling the marbles) When I asked "A" if marbles were being sold for money, student "A" said "Noooo, I
didn't sell
anything I was just
giving them away." Of course he couldn't look me in the face and was giving all the tell tell signs of a kid that is lying to the teacher. I said that the selling of marbles was not allowed in the classroom and that they should be kept at home. Today there were no marbles in sight.
The thing that cracks me up is that for the past week this student has actually been a smart kiddo. It wasn't 25 marbles for a dollar it was actually 4 marbles for a dollar. A quarter a marble!!! No wonder this kid can afford those brand new Air Jordans every 3 months!!! At least he is finally learning how to count money.
Ok and since Randel said I wasn't allowed to post something without having a picture of Anthony here is a random pic.
Proud of his block tower.

The things teachers have to deal with, Juanita! Much more than just math and reading. It's obvious that you like your kids, which is so important for a teacher. Jud
Doesn't everyone wish their children had a teacher like you. Hope Anthony always has teachers that love him as much as you love your kids. Glad to see him enjoying his blocks we gave him for Christmas.
I enjoyed your story, Juanita. Some awesome kids have an awesome teacher!
